What a week...

  1. Car was acting funny, $150 later found out that a rat chewed on some wires.
  2. Breaks were going out so had to get those fixed on Tuesday.
  3. Had to get my car smogged. Took care of that on Tuesday, as well.
  4. Uncle Alan had a heart attack on Tuesday night.
  5. Wednesday, Uncle Alan went into surgery for a bypass surgery, ended up being a quadruple bypass.
  6. Today, Coy's truck was parked out on the street by our apartments. Some lady was speeding and hit his truck. She hit it so hard that his truck hit the car parked in front of him. Hopefully it isn't totaled.

Despite all of this, I am at peace. Money was an issue but God provided for us. God brought Uncle Alan through his massive heart attack and quadruple bypass. God will bring us through this truck issue. We are provided for in so many ways and we are so thankful for all the prayer and help from family and friends. Thank you all so much for all you do. Love you all.

"To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet. To make all your friends feel there is something in them. To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. To think only the best, to work only for the best and expect only the best. To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own. To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile. To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the the presence of trouble."- Dutch Creed

Paint Can Present

I wanted a creative way to give Coy his new IPod that I had given him for his birthday. I knew that if I just wrapped it he would know exactly what it was, so I went in search of a way to wrap it. This is what I came up with...
He had kept it on his bookshelf as a little junk bin and no one knows it!

I added a little flare by attaching the lid opener with a pretty ribbon. Hope you enjoy it! I can make you these as well. I can personalize it however you want.

Before I start...

This quote has been about my family lately. It seems like things keep happening. It started with my Uncle Steve passing on May 6th, the day before Coy and I were to be married.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens. A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace."

He was my dads big brother, his only brother. He was only 54 years old when he passed away in his sleep due to a heart attack. He is dearly missed.

Last night I got a phone call from my mom at 2 A.M. First thought in my head was, "Oh no, where is my dad?!" She was calm and didn't have that crying voice so I instantly calmed down. She told me that my Uncle Alan had had a heart attack and was in the hospital. She assured me that there was nothing that I could do but pray and we would know more in the morning. Coy and I laid in bed and prayed.

I sent a text to my Aunt Lisa and all my cousins because I had to do something but I didn't know what... So, me being me, I laid in bed and worried. All I could think about was, "Two Uncles in less than 6 months have had heart attacks." I went to work thinking everything was fine and that he would be able to come home soon. My mom, sister, and sister's new man stopped by my work to get something good to drink and to tell me that he was about to go into surgery. I started balling. Mostly cause I had no idea.

I know my Uncle is strong and I know so many people are praying for him and for all his family. I can't even imagine how my Aunt or my cousins are feeling. I love them dearly and all I can do is pray right now. He is currently in surgery and all I ask is for you to pray. Pray for wisdom for the doctors, for my uncle to be strong, for my aunt and cousins to be strong. God's hand is at work, not sure how, but I know it is.

I dearly love my Uncle Alan and Aunt Lisa and all my cousins. We are very close and I want them to know how much I care for them. I love you all. Be strong, I'm praying and so are many other people. God is there and has his hand in Uncle Alan's heart. Always know that.

Wedding Crafts

I made all of these things for my wedding. The hearts were used with the flowers as center pieces for each tableThey were fun and cute!
This was actually at the wedding.
This is what the sides of the hearts look like.

Next, the mustaches I made for the wedding! These were so fun and after the wedding we saw SO many pictures of everyone with these. We didn't know how they would fit in but they did and they were fun.
I went shopping and found a huge old trunk that needed some love. I sanded it, painted it and covered the inside with fabric! Turned out great and was a good place for people to place the gifts they brought.

Last but probably not least, I made fabric bookmarks as wedding favors. They turned out great! Lot's of work but so fun.
Hope you guys enjoyed these! See anything you like, tell me exactly what you want and I'll make them for you!

Retro Paintings

These were fun. Super easy but look great!

Crayola Fun

This one was so much fun! I've had amazing feedback on this one and have already have two orders I am working on. I will post pictures of them when I finish. I can change the colors to anything you want to personalize it. I can also take the paper off the crayons if you would like that better. Here is the first one I have EVER made and I LOVE it!!

What I'm About...

I decided to start this blog because I want to share with you all what is going on in my life these days.
Being a newlywed has been such an awesome adventure. I have the most amazing husband. The only problem with the marriage is our work schedules. When I work, Coy gets to sleep, and when I arrive home he is either already gone or getting ready to go to work. This is where the blog comes in... I decided to fill my time learning new things. I'm working on a lot of arts and crafts and loving it! I want to share them with you all in hopes that I will inspire you or that I can make you one for a good price (since I am a newlywed, I can't afford to make everyone free ones, but I wish I could).
I hope that this is something that I will keep up with... :-) I'll add pictures of everything I have made this far!
